Remove an account in the app
- Open Zen Inbox
- Go to Settings
- In the accounts section, tap Remove account and pick the mailbox
- Confirm
On your phone, this deletes that account's emails, Planner cards and data from the app. Backup files you saved stay on your phone until you delete them.
On our servers, this phone stops getting notifications for that mailbox. If no other phone of yours uses the mailbox, we also stop the new-mail connection with Google or Microsoft and delete the account record, including your encrypted sign-in tokens.
Other connected mailboxes are not affected.
What removing an account does not delete
We want you to know exactly what is left behind. Email us (below) and we will delete all of it.
- Device record — your phone's random ID, which email addresses were connected on it, and your Premium status.
- Notification records — the IDs of emails we notified you about (no email content).
- Server logs — deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Crash reports in Sentry — send us the support ID shown under Settings → Report a problem.
- Emails you sent to support, including card reports.
- Calendar events the app added — they are in your own Google or Outlook calendar; delete them there.
- Google Play purchase history — kept by Google; cancel your subscription in Google Play.
Uninstalling the app deletes what is on your phone, but it does not delete anything on our servers. Remove your accounts first, or email us.
Ask us to delete everything
Email support@zeninbox.ca from the mailbox you want deleted, with the subject "Data deletion request". Include your support ID if you have it.
We will delete everything listed on this page that we hold for that mailbox within 30 days and reply to confirm.
Account records are also deleted automatically after 90 days without app activity, or after 30 days if your phone can no longer receive our notifications.
Stop access right away
You can cut off Zen Inbox's access to your mailbox at any time, even without the app:
- Google: myaccount.google.com/connections
- Microsoft: account.live.com/consent/Manage (work or school accounts: ask your administrator)
